Hunger in NYC Is Worse Than It Was During the Pandemic.
More than 1 in 10 New Yorkers now struggle to access enough food. The state’s food insufficiency rate has risen to 10.4%—HIGHER than during the height of the COVID-19 crisis.
With recent budget cuts slashing $1 billion in emergency food aid, food prices climbing, and job losses mounting, the line at our pantry grows longer each day, often wrapping around the block.

When There Was Need, We Acted
When a woman battling cancer came to us ten years ago—weak and unable to eat the food available through other pantries—we started a pantry that offered nourishment and recognized the need for culturally appropriate food.
When COVID-19 hit, we delivered over 20,000 food bags to families who were quarantined or recovering. For those battling severe cases, we went a step further, bringing freshly cooked meals to their doors. Because no one should face illness and hunger at the same time.
When demand outpaced space, we expanded our pantry to serve 2,100 families every single week.
Now, hunger is the biggest crisis in NYC. And once again, we’re stepping up.

$75 feeds a family
Each culturally appropriate food bag costs us $75 to prepare and distribute. That includes fresh produce, culturally relevant staples, and essential pantry items.
We’re suggesting a donation of $75 per bag—so that each donation can go directly toward feeding a family for a week.
$75 – Feed one family
$375 – Feed five families
$750 – Feed ten families
Our goal of $262,500 reflects the projected cost to meet the current demand at our food pantry.
