SACSS is heading into its biggest year ever. We need your help!
Imagine arriving in New York with no safety net, no connections—just the hope of a better life. Since 2000, South Asian Council for Social Services (SACSS) has been a lifeline for immigrants, breaking down barriers to healthcare, food access, economic empowerment, and civic engagement.
Our story deepened after September 11th, 2001, when we stood with families who lost loved ones, workers who lost livelihoods, and neighbors facing discrimination. This watershed moment revealed a profound truth: while support is essential, cultural barriers often prevent many South Asians from seeking help.
That's why our approach transcends traditional social services. We create safe spaces where cultural sensitivity and language accessibility are foundational. When a grandmother can explain her health concerns in her native tongue, when a family accesses culturally appropriate meals, when anyone can come in and learn computer skills—these are the moments where dignity is preserved and hope takes root.

In 2025, with your help, we are seeking to expand our services to meet the growing and changing needs of our community. Please donate today to help us meet our ambitious programming plans for 2025, including:
- The new Women’s Economic Independence Program that will help at least 60 women gain independence while working from home, each year. Projected cost $250,000/year.
- Expanding SACSS Mental Health Counseling Program to include counseling with mental health professionals in three languages, to offer three times as many clients the compassionate support they need. Projected cost $300,000 in 2025.
- Increasing and diversifying Senior Center Program. Projected cost for increase: $100,000 in 2025.
- Growing our culturally palatable food pantry and grocery delivery services. Projected cost $1 Million.
